The May Experience

When community members take over Wai'anae school classrooms for a day, students learn lessons about their environment, culture, and history.

With a musical introduction by Manu Kahaiali'i, this video features Eric Enos with a presentation on the traditional Hawaiian ahupua'a system of land management; Iokepa Tenorio teaching a chant and hula to a class of high school boys; and Poka Laenui revealing the history of events concerning the overthrow of the Hawaiian government in the late 1890's.
